Guardian Childcare and Education Wahroonga is a welcoming and homely childcare Centre offering care and education for children from six weeks to six years of age. With a range of resource-rich environments, including a teepee, vegetable garden, water pump, creek bed, worm farm and a range of age-specific play areas, children are encouraged to explore and learn each day.

Our Flying Start to School program provides a specialised 2-year curriculum for children aged 3 to 5. Our unique program has two stages - Becoming Me for 3 year olds and Being Me for 4 year olds. Couldn’t recommend this centre enough! Our son attended Guardian Wahroonga for almost 2 years. The manager Annette, carers and chef are outstanding! They always made a conscious effort to check in with us and give us updates on our son’s day at pick up. They always accommodated our son’s needs and he was always so happy and excited for daycare. They have a wonderful, sweet group of kids where my son made heaps of friends. The space and resources they have are fantastic, the centre always appeared clean and tidy with lots of fun things for the kids to be involved with. They truly became an extension of our family! We would recommend this centre in a heartbeat to anyone in the area!

I can't speak highly enough of Guardian Wahroonga. After 4 years we have said a reluctant goodbye this year. Annette, the Centre Manager, leads a team of wonderful educators who are committed to bringing the best out of the children in their care. They provide a nurturing environment, which is supportive and fun. Chef Megan provides delicious food for the kids too!

Our son has only started going to Guardian Wahroonga in Aug 2023 but the way he has adapted to this new environment has been incredible and I’ll give full credit to the educators there. He used to cry during drop offs so I was worried he will never be comfortable but it’s only 2 months and now he happily walks around the room and even sits by himself during drop offs! That’s one huge developmental progress. He’s an only child so we are very selective of everything but the educators, the director and assistant manager (Annette & Anna) have been rockstars in helping us ease our way into this new routine and we can’t be any happier. We are very grateful that we were able to find this daycare because of the level or care and support our son receives, and we hope to continue being a part of this community in years to come. Our little boy has been truly enjoying everything about this centre and we highly recommend it to families looking for care. A++ educators and facilities. Thank you Guardian Wahroonga!

Excellent daycare. Caring, knowledgeable, professional as well as friendly team. The director is fabulous, always very helpful, happy and has a great relationship with the family. Guardian Wahroonga is a fantastic day care. I can not say enough about how much we love this centre. Our daughter loves going to school and she has amazing teachers and is learning so much. we feel very comfortable leaving her as we know she is receiving the best care possible. It's simply a home away from home.Annette, the director is wonderful, kind, very professional, and supportive. She always finds something about our daughter's day to share with us. I have sent my daughter to Guardian since she was 1.5 years and now she is 4 years and intending to start school next year. When we first started, she did not know any English and now she is a fluent speaker. I have alot to credit to all the team at Guardian as my daughter has flourished into a confident girl who enjoys her time there. She has learnt to interact with peers & educators, to follow instructions well, basic language & literacy skills, and also be ready for school next year. I am so so happy with the kindness and support from the whole team we have recieved over the years.Food is prepared by chef Megan and to a high standard - from what I have observed, I could see the effort going into prepare children's meals to be healthy and nutritious.Annette (centre manager) is always trying to meet with our needs with an open heart and has been the best person to talk to.I would recommend this childcare to my friends and to anyone who is looking for a good daycare they can trust to send their children to. I have had two young boys go through Playdays/Guardian from the time I returned to work and they both started in the babies room.Sadly we will shortly end our 7 year tenure with them as our youngest will attend school. The team at Playdays are exceptional. Our youngest has a speech disorder that was alerted to us by the centre and has resulted in years of intense therapy since discovered. The team have supported our family, not only in the classroom, but also working with all the external support environments to support the best outcome for him. This has been countless hours of unpaid work and it's always been done willingly. We are forever grateful for this.Annette (director) and the teams passion for the children shows every day and the kids always love going there - for the food, the music, the laughs. There is an undeniable sense of family in the centre.If you are lucky enough to come across Hayley, you will meet the most talented, genuine girl who is truly a shining light. The kids constantly follow her around and patience and kindness are just part of her nature, she really gets the kids. My son will be devastated to leave her this year.When I saw this centre it was my first choice. I have never regretted that choice and I doubt you could find another centre that will truly make your child's day the kind they never want to forget.Well done team, our kids will never forget you and neither will we!

My son has gone here for the last 3 months and he has thoroughly enjoyed it. Its our first day care so we were a little apprehensive at first. He started with 2 days but because he is such a huge fan (as are we) we decided to take up another day.The staff are friendly, keep you posted on what happens during the day and the main thing is consistency! No change in staff so my son builds a great relationship with them. This is a huge win for me! They keep them busy with fun activities and the facilities are really clean and well maintained. GC&E Wahroonga has made everything from the process of enrolling my daughter to integrating her into the centre as easy as possible - they have the most welcoming educators and management, this helped create a smooth transition from her first day. We love the balance of structure and free play that they offer during their days and the daily activity updates via their app - she has learned so much and flourished more with each week she has attended. I am pleased to have found such a great centre and with a great team of educators in our area.

Playdays Wahroonga is a great Daycare centre which made me feel very comfortable leaving my precious little ones under their care for 5 days a week from as little as 6 months old.The centre provides a nurturing environment for kids of all ages, with both great indoor and outdoor areas for the children to explore. They also provide healthy meals which my kids would never eat at home but would actually eat when they were there. The standard response when we would try cooking at home some of the meals we would see on the Playdays menu was "that's not how Chef Megan does it" :)The educators are amazing. Most of them have been around since before my kids started.It also has an excellent Prescool program. My son's Kindy teacher would always mention how well prepared for school all the Playdays kids were.My family was part of the Playdays family for 6 years and we could not have been happier with our experience there.

Both of my daughters have attended Guardian Wahroonga (formerly PlayDays), with my youngest still attending this wonderful centre. I have nothing but praise for this fantastic community of educators and children. Both of my girls love coming here, have made some great friends and adore their teachers. Annette, the manager, and the pre-school educators still ask after my eldest who is now at school. The engagement that Annette and her great team fosters with parents in being involved in the educational program at Guardian is exemplary, I always feel very involved in the children's activities and achievements at the centre. We were a Playdays Wahroonga family for 8 years, with all 3 of our children attending from 12 months of age. Our experience was fabulous - from the beautifully nurturing educators in the Nursery, to the wonderfully patient Playdays teachers in the Toddler room (who handle the trials of toddler meltdowns and toilet training with grace and a smile!), to the fabulously enthusiastic team in the Pre-school room.The Playdays educators are so amazing with children of all ages. The feedback from the Kindergarten teachers at our Primary school was glowing of how well the Playdays kids were prepared for school readiness. One teacher said, "Every time I bring out a book to read to the class, the Playdays kids all put their hand up and say "we have already read this book at Playdays!'".I would highly recommend Playdays (Guardian) to anyone looking for Long Day Care in the area. We have had 2 children attend Playdays and one currently still attending. In the time we have been at Playdays (over a period of 9 years) we have been extremely happy with the centre. The educators are wonderful. They are caring and nurturing. They have very little staff turn over. The educators that looked after my older two children (5 years ago) are still around with my current little one. And they still remember my older two - goes to show they really get to know your kids.

A wonderful place that has given both of our children an excellent start on their learning journeys. The educators are the most caring, empathetic, thorough and thoughtful people you could entrust your kids with. The facilities are terrific. Excellent preschool and long day care. Staff are very friendly, helpful and always happy to attend to my child’s needs. Very good and healthy variety of food made fresh everyday for the kids. We know children (and families) like routine. Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.
Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.
As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.
There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.
Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.
There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.
For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.
Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.
As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.
Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

Preschool Program
Our Flying Start to School preschool program is lead by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Our specialist two-year program is committed to supporting your child as they prepare for big school. We focus on nurturing their confidence, making friends and social emotional growth while also supporting their abilities in reading, writing, counting, and thinking skills. Whether it’s building with blocks, practicing their first letters, or learning to share with friends, every experience is carefully designed to support your child’s development.
Our Centre is a recipient of funding as part of the NSW Government’s Start Strong Program. Families can receive fee relief to reduce your out-of-pocket fees of up to $2174 per child aged 4 on or before 31July 2025, and up to $515 per year for children aged 3 on or before 31 July 2025.
