Love the educators here, Joy, Varshali, Charlie, Pauleen, Yina, Gloria, Sandy, Eva, Eileen, Belle, Kim, and new educators which I don’t remember your name (sorry). They are so caring and I feel comfortable to leave my 2 years old daughter in here with their care. Thanks so much!

I am over the moon that I finally found a daycare in st Ives that I actually love, guardian is the 3rd daycare we have tried and I can honestly say it’s definitely the best. They have clear goals on what they are working on and have a in-depth understanding of your child and what your goals are for your child and they really support you in achieving this. The team are great and truly care about my son and this shows in his connections to the educators at Guardian.

My son attended Guardian St Ives and he loves every minute of it. All the Educators are lovely and pleasant. They make sure that all the kids will join the activities and they are quite observant on what my son loves to do. They have cooking, painting, water activities and so much more. The facility is new and great as well. I have decided to transfer my son full time in this childcare.

We’ve been with Guardian ELC since my eldest was 6months old and always been happy with their care and curriculum. St Ives blew our minds when we viewed the centre before it opened, such a huge space both indoor and outdoor for children to run around, beautifully decorated and educators have also been amazing. It’s been a smooth transition from previous centre and both girls are loving spending time here and they don’t want to come home!

Rhythm of the Day

We know children (and families) like routine. Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.

Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.

There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.

Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.

For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.

Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.

As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.

Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

At our childcare centre, we are passionate about fostering a love for lifelong learning from an early age. Our early childhood programs are designed to nurture each child’s unique abilities and set a strong foundation for their future. We also ensure families can benefit from options like the child care subsidy, making quality early education more accessible. By providing a supportive and stimulating environment, we aim to inspire children to grow confidently while developing essential skills for their ongoing learning journey.

At Guardian St Ives, we’re dedicated to providing the best possible care and education for children during their early years. Come and discover why so many families trust us for their childcare and preschool needs in St Ives.

We are dedicated to providing proper nutrition to children, and our on-site cook prepares fresh meals daily to ensure each child has the opportunity to develop positive healthy eating habits. Our Educators empower each child to become active in the food preparation process, and many of the children help select ingredients, ask our cook questions and learn about the various nutrients in each meal.

Our approach to early childhood education at Guardian Childcare and Education St Ives means your family has access to a high-quality education in a safe environment close to home. We’re about building strong relationships with children and families, ensuring we create amazing learning experiences for each child and age group.

We are committed to best practices in our child care Centre, ensuring a safe, secure, and inviting environment for babies, toddlers, and preschool-aged children in a long day care setting.

Each learning program is designed by experienced Educators and Teachers to support children in developing social and emotional skills, along with literacy, numeracy and problem-solving ability that prepares them for a life of learning. Our learning programs are aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Standard, and the Australian School Curriculum.

Our family communication app, Storypark, provides our Educators and families with an opportunity to develop genuine reciprocal relationships. We regularly share images, videos, and messages about your child’s progress throughout the day, keeping you informed about your child’s growth, development and learning. We encourage families to use the Storypark app to develop ideas for continuing the learning at home.

For families looking for childcare near Gordon or childcare near Killara, our preschool program is the perfect way to prepare your child for their transition into formal schooling. Designed for children aged three and four years, our program runs alongside our long day care services.

In the three-year-old program, we focus on helping children develop essential social and communication skills through group play and slightly structured activities, fostering independence.

In the four-year-old preschool, children build on these skills while also exploring numbers, shapes, and phonics. We support them as they practice reading simple sounds and words, empowering them throughout the learning process. By developing these key skills, we ensure children feel confident and ready to take on their first year of primary school. If you’re seeking quality childcare near Gordon or Killara, our program is here to support your family every step of the way.

Guardian St Ives aims to provide children with a wide variety of experiences and learning opportunities, so we offer many different teaching programs throughout the week to help foster growth and development. Children are encouraged to interact with our on-site chef and engage in the cooking process themselves. They may choose to select some fresh ingredients to include in their meal, or they might like to practice serving up their food on their own.

Sustainability is another focus at our Centre, and we empower children to develop an understanding of recycling and other sustainable practices while developing a genuine passion and care for looking after our planet. Our Out and About program encourages children to spend more time playing outdoors in the fresh air and natural sunlight. We have a beautiful, spacious outdoor environment for the children to explore and practice engaging their imaginations and creativity.

We develop each child’s literacy and numeracy skills to help them feel confident and prepared during the challenging leap into primary school. Our program supports the needs and routines of each of our families, and we ensure each child’s cultural background is supported and encouraged.

As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families at our St Ives centre will be able to gain an understanding of their child’s education. Our Learning Exchange Display will provide the opportunity for our Teachers and Educators to share updates on your child’s progress. It will also be a chance for you to have direct input into your child’s learning!

Out and about

Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.

STEM

Children discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster curiosity and develop foundational skills like problem-solving and creativity.
